get-go is to utilize wireframe mockups. Wireframes allow for an inexpensive way
to show the customer you understand their vision. After all, it is their money.

Additionally, wireframes can be created quickly which will allow for several
iterations in a short timeframe. Personally I would rather spend 2 weeks on
wireframe iterations than 2 months building something the customer doesn’t
want.
don’t have to be a programmer to use it. I’ve tried a few different solutions, but I prefer Balsamiq Mockups. Balsamiq has a free 14 day trial so you can take it for a test drive before you commit. When you’re ready to buy they have an online option as well as downloadable version.
- Use the outlined project requirements and mockup for all user interface (UI) elements
- Send the client a PDF version of the mockups as
they probably don’t have the mockup software you are using - Schedule presentation meetings to go through the
mockups with your customer - Give your customer a reasonable timeframe to
provide feedback (2 business days works well) - After the presentation meeting follow up with an
email outlining the adjustments that will be made to the next mockup iteration
mockups to save time, money, confusion and frustration. You and your customer
will be engaged and well informed.
